BUSINESS VERIFICATION

Authority first. Minimal evidence.

Spotter verifies the right person is speaking for a business without collecting documents it does not need.

Authority before badges or billing

A claimant must sign in, identify their role and provide an official public website or professional profile. Spotter does not mark a claim verified or open paid checkout until staff confirm that the person has authority to represent the gym or trainer business.

For a gym claim, staff also match the claim to the correct Spotter listing before approval. Trainer promotions may link to the approved public reference supplied with the claim.

Accepted verification methods

Staff may confirm an official-domain email against an independently found website, contact the business through independently found official details, verify control of an official website or professional profile, or match an Australian entity record and separately confirm the claimant’s authority.

A public listing, registry match or email address alone does not prove that a person is authorised. Staff record the method, public source, date and confirmation result.

Minimal evidence only

Spotter stores the claimant’s stated role, public reference URL, verification method and a short internal staff note. The normal workflow does not request or store identity-document copies, document numbers, passwords, access codes or private account credentials.

Do not send sensitive documents or credentials through a claim. If a claim cannot be verified with proportionate public and business-controlled evidence, it is rejected or held for a separate privacy-reviewed process.

What the badge means

Verified means Spotter confirmed the claimant’s authority using an accepted method at the time recorded. It is not an endorsement of the business, trainer, facilities, qualifications, safety or community opinions.

Spotter may review or revoke a claim if authority changes, evidence becomes unreliable, a dispute is raised or the listing becomes misleading. Revocation immediately removes paid visibility, disables visit-code access issued by that claimant and starts shutdown of linked Stripe checkout or subscription billing.

If Stripe cannot confirm shutdown, placement remains paused and staff see an explicit billing follow-up state. Revocation does not automatically decide whether a refund is due. That is handled separately under the final terms and applicable Australian consumer law. Affected parties can use the published operator contact once the production complaint channel is established.

The production authority-dispute contact and response target have not yet been published.
