Tell it straight. Keep it useful.

First-hand and specific

Describe a gym you genuinely trained at. Useful takes mention concrete details such as equipment, maintenance, crowd, music, busy periods, staff behaviour and how welcoming or serious the floor felt.

Independent

Do not submit reviews for your own business, a competitor, or on behalf of someone else. Disclose employment, family, payment, gifts or another commercial connection. Incentives must never depend on whether a review is positive.

A verified gym representative cannot review that gym while the claim is active. If an account’s earlier take conflicts with a gym claim that is later verified, Spotter rejects the take and refreshes the community read.

Respect people

Critique the training experience, not a person’s identity or appearance. Threats, hate, harassment, sexual content, doxxing and private contact details are not allowed. Do not make unsupported allegations of criminal or unsafe conduct.

How moderation works

Automated checks can flag spam or unsafe content, but publication decisions stay reviewable by staff. Approved, recent and independently attributable takes can contribute to the index. Flagged or rejected content never affects the score.

Businesses may correct factual listing details and respond through verified tools, but payment does not buy review removal or a better score.

Reporting a published take

A signed-in member can report an approved take for a specific standards issue. Reports are private, limited per account and do not automatically hide criticism. Staff compare the report and take against these standards, record a reasoned outcome and either keep or remove the take.

When a take is removed after publication, it stops contributing to the index and Spotter refreshes that gym’s community read. Reporter identity and report details are never shown publicly. Do not include identity documents, credentials or unnecessary private information in a report.
